Dionysis Gavounelis is a dispute resolution partner, and heads the firm’s procurement & construction team, specialising in complex litigation, and the full spectrum of procurement, through tendering, contracting, execution and the resolution of disputes.
 
Prior to joining KP, he worked as associate, partner and department head in recognised commercial and litigation law firms in Athens. He has led teams of local and foreign counsel in a wide array of domestic and cross border disputes, including carriage of goods, distribution & supply chain, transport, tourism, media, broadcasting and the press, acting for domestic and multinational corporates, C-level executives, and entrepreneurs.
 
He regularly acts for corporates engaged in a variety of roles in large construction, and has represented domestic and international engineering JVs in projects such as motorways, Greek Rail (OSE) infrustructure, and the design of the Athens and Thessalonica subways, from tendering to project completion. He has a particular niche in media disputes and regularly acts for national TV stations and newspapers, and has a substantial track record in enforcement of judgements and arbitral awards.
 
He received his education at the University of Athens, School of Law (1992). He was admitted to the Athens Bar in 1995, and is presently admitted to the Supreme Court (Areios Pagos). Born Athens, 1968.
